Michele R. Brown is a dedicated, solutions‑focused professional with more than three decades of experience serving children, families, and communities through education, public service, and advocacy. Known for her steady leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and unwavering commitment to helping others, she has built a career defined by service, compassion, and operational excellence.
Michele currently supports Lebanon Road Elementary School as a Cafeteria Monitor, where she ensures a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students during meal periods. Prior to this role, she spent four years as an Exceptional Child Teacher’s Assistant at Newell Elementary School, working closely with students who required individualized support. In this position, she assisted teachers with instruction, monitored student progress, and helped create a safe and inclusive learning environment for children with diverse needs.
Before transitioning into education, Michele served the United States Senate for nearly two decades as a Special Assistant, Community Outreach Liaison, and Receptionist. In this multifaceted role, she prepared the Senator for meetings, coordinated events, managed casework, and represented the office at community and government functions across Maryland. Her work included producing detailed reports on constituent issues, supporting systems administration, and building relationships with leaders, organizations, and residents throughout the state.
Michele’s earlier career includes service with the Howard County Police Department, the Baltimore City Police Department, and the State of Maryland’s Central Booking Intake Facility, where she provided administrative, technical, and operational support. Her experience spans data entry, records management, NCIC operations, financial reporting, and training new staff.
For 14 years, Michele also served as a Therapeutic Foster Care Parent with the Kennedy Krieger Institute, providing a stable, loving home for children experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. She advocated for their educational needs, supported reunification efforts when appropriate, and ensured they remained connected to family, community, and essential services.
Her commitment to service has earned her numerous honors, including the Maryland Top 100 Women Award, the Baltimore City NAACP Thurgood Marshall Award, and recognition from the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce, the FBI Citizens Academy, and the Maryland Coalition of Families.
Michele is currently pursuing her education at Southern New Hampshire University and remains deeply committed to supporting children, strengthening families, and uplifting her community.
